The annual Police Report and Crime Statistics for 2016, is now available. This annual report presents data collected over the past year on calls for service, and provides crime statistics occurring so that you may actively support and participate in maintaining a safe campus. To learn more about crime on campus, we also provide an interactive crime mapping website where you may sign up for daily alerts, view our crime and fire log, and find more information about crime at UC Santa Cruz. The website can be found at https://ucsc.crimegraphics.com.
Overall, the campus and off-site locations are located in safe areas, but no location is free from crime or a potentially hazardous situation. The men and women of the UC Santa Cruz Police Department are dedicated to serving the community by creating a safe and secure environment. However, they can’t do it alone.
In addition to this report, the police department publishes the Campus Security and Fire Safety Report pursuant to federal law known as the Clery Act. More information about the Clery Act can be found at police.ucsc.edu.
No matter what brings you to our beautiful campus, the police department is here to protect and enhance the safety and well being of our community. We encourage each and every one of you to act in partnership with us to address crime and quality of life issues, as well as increase the public’s understanding of law enforcement.
If you have any questions or comments please contact the UC Santa Cruz Police Department at 831-459-2231 ext. 1 or by email at police@ucsc.edu.
